EXPERIENCE:

I was an official EA for 1 year in a charter school that served K-8. I supported the Executive Director and the Board of Directors during my time there. However, during my 11 years at an investment bank, I served in an unofficial capacity for over 5 years. I supported high-level executives from multiple departments and filled in for other EAs while out.

HOW I COMMUNICATE:

I ask questions before and during project/tasks to make sure I am clear on what is needed and to clear any confusion. I prefer to not be micromanaged but definitely appreciate feedback, whether positive or otherwise.

I like to establish trust between myself and my superiors so I enjoy a flow of conversation and ideas while respecting their privacy and confidentiality.

HOW I PREFER TO RECEIVE FEEDBACK:

I don't have a preference as to how I receive feedback as long as I am able to defend or explain myself if the situation calls for it. I don't like the environment where the boss is always right as long as we establish a respectful way to differ.

I thoroughly enjoy the glows and grows procedures as there is recognition of what an EA is doing correctly/positively and not just a focus on the negative.

WORKING STYLE:

From my years of experience, I have learned to adapt to the different styles that superiors require. Clients should express their needs. requirements, and details and believe that I can and will get the work done.

However, I enjoy working for clients that give me the freedom and trust to lead a project, to input ideas, to give feedback and to create processes. I like my skills and work ethic to be trusted and therefore, given some autonomy and leeway.
