Allyson grew up in many places but calls Lisle, Illinois home. Going from a tiny town, to being the first person in her family to graduate from a 4 year university, Allyson decided to join the Teach For America Jacksonville family in 2013 and has been in Jacksonville ever since.
Graduating from Illinois State University with a degree in Public Relations, Allyson has 8 years of experience in education as a teacher, high school college access counselor, and leader in the non-profit space.
In addition to her work in education she is currently the Owner and Head Coordinator at Maebell Events and Paper Design. There she specializes in wedding coordination, as well as, non-profit and corporate event planning services. Becoming a solo entrepreneur and run her own business has been an incredible experience. She is also currently a graduate student at the Public Policy Institute at Jacksonville University.
